Day 21 | Matthew 27.15-50

Eubie said…
I am sad.
The injustice and suffering of the journey to Calvary brings sorrow.
The crowed is treating our friend, Jesus, horribly.
I am powerless; I don’t know what Is going to happen; I are afraid , I thirst for peace & justice
I feel so vulnerable to temptation.
What is Jesus feeling? How did he make peace?

When I am treated unjustly, or others are treated unjustly, how do I resist temptation to sin? To take matters into my own hands?
How do I hear God’s voice?
How do I invite my enemies to my table?
I suffer with Christ every time I read this story.
I now know that He suffers with me - leading me as a shepherd - every time I am treated unjustly.

Day 14 | Discipleship: Matthew 5:13-16

What does it mean to be salt of the earth and light of the world? 13  “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.  14  You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.  15  Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.  16  Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.
